Drama Am Schlagzeug (Drama at the Drumset) is a tribute to the late drummer Franz Trojan by his former bandmate and pianist Michael Busse. In the 1980s, they played together in the nationally famous German rock band "Spider Murphy Gang", which Busse left after only a few years.
Now, after over 35 years of absence from the musical stage, the first act of Busse's solo career is kicked off with the musical tribute to a great friend, bandmate and - in the words of Busse - the once best drummer in Germany.
The music video combines multiple elements: We see Michael Busse mourning and reflecting about their time together, which eventually inspires him to write the song. In the meantime, archival footage is shown of Franz Trojan at the drums at the height of his musical career. This is again intercepted by a stylized, symbolic recreation of Trojan's downfall.
Although it's a video about mourning, not everything is supposed to be bleak and sad: The video contains a few humorous elements to make sure it's not dominated by sadness.
